Meet Fay
Hi, my name is Fay, I am located in Waipukurau.
I am a Level 4 Qualified Educarer and I have been with Bright Futures since July 2007.
I started looking after children in the mid-nineties my own boys were 7 and 10 yrs old. I found that my sons welcomed and loved the younger children. I believe my role enhances what parents have taught their children and that it’s an ongoing partnership.
There is so much scope to work with when you have children, whether reading books, imaginary play, art, dramatic play and of course music and dancing – often and spontaneous anytime during the day! We have great resources or props at hand for children to play with that encourage children to the next step and they are so proud when they know they are mastering self help skills. I especially like seeing how children learn off each other in a small group when there’s a mix of ages and it’s not always the older children teaching the younger ones, it’s often the other way round too.
