Meet Lesley
I am a Level 5 Qualified Educator, and I have been working in childcare for over 30 years—12.5 years in a centre-based setting and 18 years in home-based care. I love being part of children’s lives and building reciprocal, nurturing relationships with them, as well as with their parents.
My teaching philosophy is very heart-led, with a focus on allowing children to set the pace. I believe in creating an inviting, relaxed environment where children feel secure and know their needs are important. I observe their play and follow their cues, joining in when invited.
The children in my care enjoy a range of activities, from family play and loose parts to art, sensory trays, and outdoor play in my large backyard. We also love outings to music classes, parks, and the aquarium, as well as visiting other educators’ homes for playdates.
