Meet Sarah
Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am located in Waiohiki.
I have been working in early childhood education for about 2.5 years and hold a Certificate Four in Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about fostering children’s curiosity and confidence by using nature as a learning tool. My approach is inspired by my Granddad, who taught me to appreciate the natural world.
Living on a multigenerational property, the children I care for have unique learning experiences, from collecting eggs to exploring our “jungle” garden. We enjoy activities like music sessions, nature walks, and feeding ducks. I believe in spontaneous, child-led play, which helps build confidence and independence.
Home-based education is special because it allows for close bonds in a small group setting. Children feel secure, develop their self-esteem, and receive personalised attention, making it a truly enriching experience.
